Sports Hall Floor Covering Druggets

Druggets are used for covering an expensive sports hall or gymnasium floor to protect it when being used during exam time or for non sports events. It has also been found to improve acoustics which is beneficial during exam periods.

Flax Canvas is the traditional material used for floor druggets and, even with the modern fabrics now available, flax remains the most suitable material for the job.  This material is a coarse, hardwearing and durable cloth and is Flame Resistant to BS5287:1998.

Due to the weight of the cloth, it is frequently necessary to make very large druggets in more than one piece.  When this is required, we use velcro to affect easy joining as per the photo illustration.  Each section will be supplied with its own stoarge bag.  If a taut and secure drugget is needed, fixings are available.  These consist of a pin that passes through the eyelet on the sheet and fixes into a socket sunken into the floor.
